The park covers an area of 124 acres with a 4-acre lake, so there are plenty of locations to take amazing pictures.
This is one of the most popular locations clients like to choose to have a photo shoot by the ocean. Apart from being an iconic place to visit in Orange County, the location works well for sessions that include kids and immediate family. As an Orange County photographer, I love the view of the ocean in maternity photo shoots.
One of my preferred times to arrange a maternity Orange County shoot is during fall when the leaves turn golden yellow. This park is best known for its oak and sycamore trees which form the perfect backgrounds, especially during morning or afternoon sessions, making this place ideal for maternity photography in Orange County.
In my years as a maternity photographer, the beach has been one of my most requested locations from clients for maternity photoshoots. Shaw’s Cove in Laguna Beach is the perfect destination with a beautiful rock shelf. The crystal blue waters, foamy waves, and tide pools create the ideal background throughout the year, especially during sunsets. The Huntington Central Park is the largest city-owned park in Orange County, featuring beautiful open grass fields with varieties of trees and flowers. This is another one of my favorite locations for shooting family maternity portraits, as the serene environment helps me take more natural pictures. I especially like the Urban Forest area of the park as it has a lot of native plants that undergo seasonal changes.

Planning a maternity photo shoot can be an overwhelming experience, but as an Orange County maternity photographer, it’s my job to make the process seamless for my clients. That’s why I always schedule consultation sessions and encourage clients to ask questions, as it helps me understand their wishes. Here are some common queries I have encountered as a professional photographer.
To be honest, there’s no fixed timeframe to have a maternity photography Orange County shoot. However, the most common time is during 32 to 36 weeks. The baby bump shows well during the 7th and 8th months of pregnancy.
Having said that, there are cases where I have had mothers that are expecting twins that will book earlier sessions between 24 to 28 weeks.
